Course Description: All human beings depend on the environment in which we live. A safe, clean, healthy and sustainable environment is integral to the full enjoyment of a wide range of human rights, including the rights to life, health, food, water and sanitation. Without a healthy environment, we are unable to fulfil our aspirations
Course Objectives: To familiarize students with environment and its conservation and also to get an outline on the human rights.
Course Outcomes: The Introduction to Human Rights and the Environment course covers the relationship between human rights and the environment; explains the bases for the application of human rights to environmental issues, and the procedural and substantive obligations relating to the environment and gives examples of constitutions that have incorporated a right to a healthy environment, good practices in procedural and substantive environmental protection.
